Teacher Assistant (Part Time) Early Learning Program

The Board of Child Care provides quality child care services for children, ages 12 months to 5 years, at our Early Learning Program in Washington, DC.  Our dedicated staff provide compassionate, professional, attentive care to children enrolled in the program.

  • Board of Child Care - Early Learning Program - 308 15th Street, SE, Washington, DC


  • Develop and deliver curriculum founded on the center's philosophies following childcare regulations and national standards.
  • Create positive learning environments including resources based on child directed learning
  • Develop strategies to guide positive children's behavior.
  • Build good, open communication with children, families and staff.
  • Observe and record children's growth, development and behavior using electronic portfolios.
  • Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe.
  • Help develop teaching goals for the center and its teachers.'
  • Undertake administrative tasks as required.


  • Early Childhood Teaching qualifications, preferred
  • Child Development Associates or CDA is required.
  • Experience working in a childcare setting.
  • Fantastic organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (BCC will provide course during new hire orientation)
  • A good understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework.
