Position Summary: The Childcare Volunteer will provide support to BCC talent and infants, toddlers, and preschool children. 

Essential Functions:

  • Volunteer shall work under the direct supervision of a Lead Teacher, Teacher Assistant, or Center Director at all times.
  • Provide supervision and appropriate care to the children in his or her assigned class or group, under the direct supervision of a Lead Teacher, Teacher Assistant, or Center Director at all times.
  • Volunteer will not have sole responsibility for a group or classroom, or for the Facility, at any time.
  • Keep childcare areas clean and organized
  • Positively contribute to a safe, nurturing healthy learning environment
  • Assist with crafts, games or free-play
  • Maintain values of dignity, empowerment, and respect with all clients, callers, staff, and volunteers of the agency and program.
  • Aides, volunteers, and chaperones are prohibited from administering any form of discipline, medication, and diapering.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work. Eligible for flex schedule. Essential for snow?


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
